Longcase Clock Case Study

This lovely longcase antique clock required repair plus our restoration services in Wareham, Dorset. It was unfortunately knocked over and the glass in the hood was broken and a piece broken from the wood of the hood cornice moulding.

Longcase Clock Restoration
Old Putty
Removal

I removed the old putty to access the broken glass and sourced glass of the same period to replace it.

Cut Glass
& Replace

The glass was then cut and fitted by myself. On this occasion it was necessary to colour the new putty to match the original.

Missing Wood
on the Hood

The missing pieces of wood on the hood was patched with similar patinated mahogany and coloured to match.

Client Testimonial

We are really pleased with the work you have done on our long case clock. Thank you so much for returning to set it up and attach it to the wall so that it is not able to fall over again.
